Job Opportunities for the Week of:June 29, 20091) A major Healthcare and Insurance Company is hiring for an Appeals Consultant in Tennessee. This position is responsible for coordination, monitoring and implementation of the Medicare appeals process, monitoring and researching regulatory issues, and writing Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) position papers. A further challenge of this position is to improve the operating efficiency and quality of reconsideration decision letter processes utilizing evaluation of workflow and audits, root cause analysis, trending, process improvement, reporting and the effective utilization of resources. The ideal candidate for this position will have a Bachelors in Liberal Arts or a Bachelors in Nursing, experience as a Paralegal or Legal Nurse Consultant, and two years of experience in quality management or continuous process improvement. Additional plusses include a Masters of Science in Nursing (M.S.N.) or a J.D. degree.Two years experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook and Excel is required for the position.2) A Healthcare Company in Northern California is looking for a Legal Nurse Consultant with experience in clinical high risk area, such as ER, OB/GYN, ICU or surgery. The nurse should be certified as an Advanced Legal Nurse Consultant, a licenced RN, with some liability claims experience or paralegal experience or education preferred. Computer skills and a superior ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing is necessary.3) A law firm in West Virginia has a position for an Advanced Legal Nurse Consultant (ALNC) or Nurse Paralegal to work as part of an established medical professional liability group. Legal experience is preferred, but not required. A minimum of five years of nursing experience is required. Multiple disciplines within the nursing field a plus. The ALNC should be highly motivated and skilled in Word, Excel and Outlook.4) In-house Legal Nurse Consultant or Nurse Paralegal needed in busy Med Mal/Insurance Defense firm in Tampa, FL. Duties include record review, preparation of medical summaries, graphs, tables, research and expert witness location. The individual must have knowledge of nursing standards, computer skills, and must be currently licenced (no encumbrance) in the state of FL.5) A Georgia Law Firm needs a Legal Nurse Consultant with litigation experience. A Legal Nurse Certification is required for this opportunity. Furthermore, a BSN, an active RN license, and a clinical care background with 5 years of experience are also required. 6) A Law Firm in Texas is currently seeking a Nurse Paralegal for a special litigation project. The candidate must be an active RN with 3 years litigation experience. Intermediate Excel skills and an advanced knowledge of medical terminology are also required. This position will be reviewing medical records and heavy client contact will be required.7) A downtown Manhattan law firm seeks a RN Paralegal or Advanced Legal Nurse Consultant for immediate 1-3 week assignment. Must be able to pinpoint and locate three specific medical issues in the cases. Can work from home and remotely.
