What is a CPSS?

A Certified Product Safety
Specialist (CPSS) is responsible for
minimizing the risks in the product
safety industry by identifying,
screening, reviewing and reducing
potential problems. A CPSS can
develop reports regarding damages
and injuries potentially caused by a
product. Even though many of these
topics are covered in the LNC STAT
course, the CPSS certification
covers more in-depth topics in
the product safety specialty. The
CPSS course was developed for the
staff of a multi-billion dollar
pharmaceutical company. With the
many products that are under
scrutiny, the need for this type of
new age specialty is at its highest!
Why Do You Need the CPSS
Certification?

The CPSS certification helps expand your practice
so that you will have the ability to
work a wider variety of cases and
expand your medical-legal expertise
into specific specialties.
Why is the CPSS Certification
Needed?

The concern of product safety has
become a worldwide issue. Consumers
are more educated now than ever
before. No longer are they relying
on what the doctor ordered. Products
are being advertised on television,
in magazines, in newspapers and even
on billboards. The product industry
is leading the world’s income. There
is an alarming increase in the
number of lawsuits against product
manufacturers, importers and
distributors. Pharmaceutical
companies are being hit the hardest.
The media becomes involved with
increasing the awareness of many
products once they are suspected of
causing harm to the consumer. How
does a consumer become protected
with the products that are on the
market? How does the manufacturer
know that the product is safe for
distribution? What happens when
product safety is an issue? How does
a company protect itself from
lawsuits? What can a consumer do if
they claim they have damages or
injuries from a product? These are
all questions a Certified Product
Safety Specialist (CPSS) can help
answer.
