Veronica was in a difficult place when she began practicing as a Legal Nurse. She had just been diagnosed with a latex allergy, which prevented her from working as a nurse in the ER. Her mother had terminal cancer and Veronica was in the process of getting a divorce. She needed to change the direction of her life, and she did it. She became a Legal Nurse and the rest is history.

One of our teams of Legal Nurses was in a similar situation. They had taken another Legal Nurse course, and were unable to get any cases. Zyprexa Case Analyzed by CPSS Nurses

On January 15, 2009, pharmaceutical giant Eli Lilly was fined roughly 1.42 billion for marketing Zyprexa illegally. In the years prior to this judgment, Legal Nurses trained by RN Market worked on the medical files associated with the case. Zyprexa had been approved by the FDA for use on schizophrenia and certain types of bipolar disorder only. Eli Lilly admitted that it marketed the drug for additional uses including sleep disorders, Alzheimer's disease, aggression, hostility, depression and dementia that Zyprexa had not been approved for. "Off label promotion of pharmaceutical drugs is a serious crime because it undermines the FDA's role in protecting the American public by determining a drug is safe and effective for a particular use before it is marketed," an attorney involved in the case stated.

A Certified Product Safety Specialist (CPSS) Certified Legal Nurse team trained by RN Market successfully bid and won the right to work on these historic cases. This money judgment is the largest amount paid by a single defendant in the history of the United States, according to the US Department of Justice.
